The hotel was set within short walking distance to plaza de espana. Restaurante la fuente is located within 200 feet from the venue.
Helpful staff and gorgeous breakfasts. Restaurante el muro served dishes within 100 metres off the hotel.
We have stayed in Benalmadena many times but never at the La Fonda, what a mistake, its a little gem!. It's so well situated within the beautiful village of Benalmadena Pueblo. Our suite was simply stunning, modern but it still maintained an old fashioned elegance. Staff were so friendly and helpful. We arrived just after 11am and were able to go to our room. Views from terraces and dining room are breathtaking and the pool area is perfect.
Breakfast was a little basic, but sufficient for myself and my husband, Parking is a bit of a problem, we had to park in square and walk with cases to hotel, just a matter of yards, and then park car in car park underneath the church. However, a car park for hotel is being built at the moment at the back of the hotel which looks as if it should be finished within the next few weeks.
Very nice hotel set in the old town of benalmadina, central to the small amount of shops and restaurants. The rooms were clean modern and finished to a high standard,as was a large quiet pool on the lower level of the hotel. We had a relaxing few days at La Fonda and would recommend it for a short break.
They were still finishing the refurbishment of the restaurant, due to by completed end of September 2011. This noise could be heard from 8.30am.
The location of La Fonda is wonderful - and since the refurbishment it has become a boutique style hotel yet still retaining the original charm of a Spanish hotel in a typical inland Spanish village away from the coast and its commercialism. The village is friendly and the quality of the restaurants is first class - particularly La Fuente. The staff at La Fonda were extremely friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfast room is delightful and we were able to sit outside on the terrace with magnificent views and have our leisurely breakfast. A highly recommended hote and we shall be back!
The staff were really friendly. The hotel is in a great position in a small village and the breakfast fabulous. I wish I could have stayed longer.
Great location in centre of town very pretty. Lovely room and bathroom. Helpful staff. Parking nearby. Breakfast excellent. Great views
Nothing to dislike. Would stay again
Great location, friendly staff and very comfortable. The pool area was great as were the views from our terrace.
Lovely hotel, we also had lunch in the Cookery school which is attached to the hotel and this was a wonderful treat, the staff were most pleasant. Breakfast at the hotel is also very good and a wonderful view from the dining room.
Location and design
Service was very poor initially.we found the kettle in our room had green mould inside and went to change it but after 2200 you have no chance as they leave a man on reception who speaks little english and has no access to anything.we needed more pillows and coat hangers and as previously stated a kettle.we had to wait until next day and even then until 1400.we also had a mix up with the room.i guess this was partly our fault but when we booked a superior room with sea view we expected a balcony to sit on but this was not the case and we could not sort this out as they only have 5 rooms with balconies and they were all booked.
Ifound the Hotel to be in a great location if you just want to relax and be away from the noise and bustle of the main holiday areas. The decor and the all round comfort was of a high standard the facilities where excellent as were the staff. Iwould highly recommend this hotel to any one although it is not really for children mainly couples.
It was our fourth visit to La Fonda this year. As with all past visits, the staff were top notch and the amenities in the hotel room superb. The bathroom was pristine.
Everything, it was absolutely perfect - a small spainish, family run hotel which goes out of its way to provide superior customer service. We will definitely be returning.
Located in picturesque village not far from the coast - 7 euros by taxi and 1.80 euros by bus from Benalmadena Costa. Very accessible from Malaga Airport - train from airport to Benalmadena Mielle - only 2 euros and bus up to Benalmadena Pueblo 1.80 euros. Fantastic choice of small restaurants which were generally very favourably priced. La Fuente in Plaza Espana particularly good and lovely setting. La Perla more expensive but great quality food. Best thing about this hotel was it was quiet and relaxing. It's views to the coast were spectacular especially from the beautiful breakfast room. Lots of cosy areas to chill and relax.
Only thing I didn't like was that my room looked out onto the pool. I would have preferred a sea view room with a balcony but that was a superior room !
