Location and design
Service was very poor initially.we found the kettle in our room had green mould inside and went to change it but after 2200 you have no chance as they leave a man on reception who speaks little english and has no access to anything.we needed more pillows and coat hangers and as previously stated a kettle.we had to wait until next day and even then until 1400.we also had a mix up with the room.i guess this was partly our fault but when we booked a superior room with sea view we expected a balcony to sit on but this was not the case and we could not sort this out as they only have 5 rooms with balconies and they were all booked.
Ifound the Hotel to be in a great location if you just want to relax and be away from the noise and bustle of the main holiday areas. The decor and the all round comfort was of a high standard the facilities where excellent as were the staff. Iwould highly recommend this hotel to any one although it is not really for children mainly couples.
It was our fourth visit to La Fonda this year. As with all past visits, the staff were top notch and the amenities in the hotel room superb. The bathroom was pristine.
Everything, it was absolutely perfect - a small spainish, family run hotel which goes out of its way to provide superior customer service. We will definitely be returning.
Located in picturesque village not far from the coast - 7 euros by taxi and 1.80 euros by bus from Benalmadena Costa. Very accessible from Malaga Airport - train from airport to Benalmadena Mielle - only 2 euros and bus up to Benalmadena Pueblo 1.80 euros. Fantastic choice of small restaurants which were generally very favourably priced. La Fuente in Plaza Espana particularly good and lovely setting. La Perla more expensive but great quality food. Best thing about this hotel was it was quiet and relaxing. It's views to the coast were spectacular especially from the beautiful breakfast room. Lots of cosy areas to chill and relax.
Only thing I didn't like was that my room looked out onto the pool. I would have preferred a sea view room with a balcony but that was a superior room !
Beautiful hotel and lovely staff. In a nice setting and pretty village with a couple of nice restaurants in the square just a few metres from the hotel
Too far from the beach or train station to get you anywhere else. You definitely need a car if you stay here, otherwise you are constantly in a Taxi! Booked.net said it was 2km from the coast - by what? Helicopter? The bus took, at least, 15 minutes to Benalmadena Costa
Excellent and beautiful hotel. Design was lovely and the place was so relaxing and quiet. The pool was great and it was a great place to catch the rays of the sun. Staff were very friendly and helpful from the girls at reception to the cleaning staff. The room was gorgeous and very well maintained and clean. Breakfast was delicious with a varied wide range to select from. Hotel was very well located also with many restaurants and supermarkets nearby.
Restaurant and bar was closed during our stay which was unfortunate but everything else was great apart from that.
We loved the hot tub on the balcony - we have never seen this before and were delighted. The four poster beds outside we great too. The lovely blonde girl who worked behind the bar was wonderful and made us feel very relaxed in invited.
The television in our room didn't work properly and the telephone for room service was constantly engaged - we therefore had to get dressed to go down to the bar and order ourselves. The food was a little bit greasy, considering it is a spa was surprising.
Beautiful interior to the hotel. Loved the tranquil and cool courtyard with the fountain. Rooms were very spacious and well appointed with good sea views.
No tea or coffee making facilities.
Fabulous boutique style design hotel.Excellent room facilities and the sea view rooms have a terrace with panoramic views.
Parking although free is not at the hotel and it can be tricky to navigate if arriving at night
The hotel is set away from the marina and main drag between Torremolinas and Fuengerola in a picture perfect setting which includes cobbled streets, a sun trap square and al fresco restaurants. You're unlikely to encounter football shirts and tattoos! The hotel itself has recently had a lot of money spent on it. The rooms are spacious, tastefully furnished and have a terrace so you can enjoy sundowners while overlooking the Med. Breakfast is included and is served from a beautiful perch with a waiter that can't do enough for you.
We went in February. During the day it was 15 - 17 degrees outside, but at night the temperature dropped. The heating in the room wasn't brilliant and unless you were under the covers you'd have been a bit cold. There is no parking at the hotel so you need to leave your car in one of the minicipal parking areas. These are only ever a two minute walk away so it's no real inconvenience, just something to be aware of if you are traveling with older folks or have a heavy case to carry.
We liked everything about the hotel, there was nothing to fault.
Fabulous, couldn't fault a thing. Wonderful stay.
Stunning location and hotel, with lovely sea views. Staff really helpful. Amazing breakfasts and good dining within yards of the hotel in the small square. Everything you could really want for a relaxing break.
It was every we thought it would be and more.
Quiet, very clean and friendly staff.
It's beautiful. Lovely quiet area. We are used to staying in Benalmadena Costa and just fancied a change. You can hop on a bus to the beach or pop up to Mijas for less than 2 euros. We ate every evening in the small square that is just 20 mtrs from the hotel door. The food was superb each night. The breakfasts in the hotel are a treat with amazing views of the sea. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and intend to return as soon as we have another free weekend.
